On Friday 2nd August 2019, over 100 Old Boys gathered for a beer and chat at the Hudspeth Hall, NTHS. The informal event was attended by former scholars of Hobart Junior Technical School, Hobart Technical High School and New Town High.
Principal Dave Kilpatrick welcomed all former scholars to the event. He outlined the history of the school starting at the Hobart Junior Techical School, and particularly welcoming the old HJTS boys present.
Dave encouraged all present to attend the other forthcoming Centenary events – see sidebar for details.
Dave asked those present to consider mentoring Year 11 students next year. (Watch this newsletter for more information about mentoring.)
Forthcoming Centenary events offer more opportunities to renew old friendships and if this event is anything to go by, there should be many more. “Keep in touch and get involved”, Mr Kilpatrick said.
Since the event, NTHOSA has received many messages of thanks, and offers of assistance from OBs.
Two former HJTS students have written some of their recollections of their time at school. We thank them and will publish these contributions .
Other OBs have offerd to assist NTHOSA is various ways and this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
