A key feature of the Centenary celebrations of New Town High School and its predecessors Hobart Technical High School and Hobart Junior Technical School is the establishment of a Hall of Excellence recognising the outstanding achievements of former students.

The Hall of Excellence is located in the foyer of the School’s Hudspeth Hall, and the inaugural 22 inductees were announced on 1st November 2019.
Significant contributions of $9000 by the School Association and $3000 from the Tasmanian Premier have enabled the project to proceed.
The inductees were selected by independent selection panels in the following categories:
- Academia and Professional;
- Arts / Culture
- Community Service and leadership; and
- Sport

With so many former students subsequently making significant contributions to society, the school and Old Scholars are confident you will identify and nominate potential inductees.
Although closed for the Centenary Year, nominations can be made for 2022 via the link above.
