A special general meeting will be held prior to the normal committee meeting to make some changes to the constitution of the New Town High and Tech Old Scholars Association Inc. (NTH&TechOSA Inc.)
The changes to the wording are to better reflect the not for profit and community service nature of the organisation.

To change the constitution.
Under Clause 4 (1)(a)
Add after the 2nd and To encourage community participation and support. and
Delete current Clause 4(1)(b) and replace with To support Hobart City High School in its activities and needs, to advance the education of its students;

In the event of the organisation being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another charitable or not for profit organisation as the committee determines.
The constitution therefore to read
4. Objects and purposes of Association
The objects and purposes are;
(1) To establish not for profit association of old scholars with membership from former students, teachers and staff of Hobart Junior Technical School, Hobart Technical High School, New Town High School and Hobart City High School and former and current teachers and staff of those schools;
(a) To foster relationships between the School Association and the School, and to encourage community participation and support and
(b) To support Hobart City High School in its activities and needs, to advance the education of its students;
(c) To acknowledge outstanding achievements of former students and staff, and
(d) To provide and participate in mentoring current students of Hobart City High School, and
(e) Any other matters the Committee determine.
(7) Income and property of Association
(1) The assets and income of the Association shall be applied solely in furtherance of its objects.
(2) In the event of the organisation being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another charitable or not for profit organisation as the committee determines.
(3) The Association may pay a person or member of the Association as the committee determines.
