Background Notes
During 2025, the Old Scholars Association has been conducting a successful weekly Health and Wellbeing Program for old scholars and friends at the New Town campus pavilion. It is proposed that the Health and Wellbeing Program be made available remotely by website, to enable old scholars and friends unable to attend, be they intra or interstate, or overseas, the opportunity to participate in this important and very helpful men’s health initiative. A new web page will be established enabling registration, email and video access to program sessions and banking.
The Constitution amendments provide;
- Correction of the registered name of the association.
- Provide for the association’s office location.
3. Establishment of sub-committees and if necessary, the appointment of non-voting members to those committees;
4. Provide for the Association to be clearly identified as a Not-for-Profit entity to satisfy requirements of the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC).
Explanatory notes
1. Adding the letter “s” to the word “Student” in the title of the registered Association.
2. Identifying the association’s office location
3. Ensuring sub-committees can established and if necessary, can comprise non-voting members.
4. The objective is to establish Google, YouTube, and PayPal accounts in a new web site. Google require registration with the ACNC to create the Gmail address, Google, and YouTube accounts in the Association name. Google does not recognise the Association’s current registration with CBOS. It must be registered with ACNC.
ACNC also require a specific clause in the Constitution clearly stating the Association is a Not-for-Profit entity.
